Manchester City will officially begin the celebration of the Premier League title with a match against Swansea City at Etihad. Pep Guardiola and his men will lift the trophy in a few weeks and this will be the start of the party. The game doesn’t matter for City in terms of the table (for obvious reasons), but Swansea still need a win to confirm their place in the division and will see this as a big opportunity to get three points.

The Opta stats should give City fans plenty of encouragement. City have won their last 11 home games against Swansea in the league, including all six of their Premier League clashes in Manchester. Pep Guardiola has never lost back-to-back home games in the Premier League, Bundesliga or indeed in La Liga.

Sergio Aguero is out for the rest of the season after knee surgery, but Brazilian striker Gabriel Jesus is proving to be an exciting stand-in. He has been involved in 22 goals in his 23 Premier League starts. Influential and perhaps under-rated midfield regulator Fernandinho is suspended.

Swansea have the finish line in sight
Swansea boss Carlos Carvalhal has charmed the Premier League with smiles and the entertaining analogies for which he is now famous, but beneath that jovial exterior lies a coach who has showed he can get the best out of a squad that was tumbling towards disaster when he took charge.

Swans to come up short
Manchester City have nothing else to play for, and therefore there is no reason to expect them to ease off here. They were excellent against Spurs last weekend, and it’s worth noting that they bashed the Swans 4-0 in the reverse fixture.

Sane needs to go up a further gear to catch the eye of Germany boss Joachim Loew ahead of the World Cup, and if he starts, he’s certainly worth backing at 2.80 to score in 90 minutes. He’s scored 13 goals in all competitions, and he continually gets himself into good scoring positions.
