Sweden vs Czech Republic Friendly Match Preview and Prediction 29-Mar-2016

Sweden vs Czech Republic Kick-Off Time 29-March-2016 by LeagueLane

Sweden are keen to bounce back from the disappointing 2-1 loss to Turkey when they host Czech Republic at Friends Arena, Solna on 29th March 2016.

Sweden fought back to get to level terms against Turkey, but fall to a late goal by Cenk Tosun who steal the show on the night. However the Turks were the dominant side on the day and Swedish head coach will be expecting an improved performance on Tuesday night against the Czech side.

Czech Republic on the other hand lost to Scotland at home, recording their second loss in as many games. Their head-coach Pavel Vrba is rather keen to experiment in friendly as he searches for a perfect combination ahead of the Euro 2016 finals in France.
Form Guide

The defeat against Turkey was their first in 7 matches and they have won 4 and draw 2 out of their previous 6.
Their last five matches have seen over 2.5 goals and the Swedes have scored at least a goal in their last 8 matches.
At home, Sweden are unbeaten in the last three, with 2 wins and a draw. They have only lost once in their last 6 matches.
Czech Republic have lost 2 matches in a row now and the match against Scotland was the first in last 4 they failed to register a goal.
Their away record in last 5 matches read 2 wins and 3 defeats, and they win against Latvia and Netherlands, while lost to Slovakia, Iceland and Poland.

Sweden: Team News

Sweden national team’s head coach Erik Hamren rested Zlatan Ibrahamovic in the last game and this could be the case once again.

Changes in personal are unlikely and we could witness the same starting line-up against Czech Republic.

Sweden: Expected Starting line-up (4-4-2)

Isaksson – Lustig, Granqvist, Lindelof, Augustinsson – Ekdal, Kim Kallstrom, Durmaz, Zengin – Guidetti, Berg.
Czech Republic: Team News

Czech Republic head-coach Pavel Vrba will be without their star player Petr Cech, who is still nursing an injury.

The squad includes a number of new faces in Sparta Prague defender Jakub Brabec, who is yet to make his debut. While other newcomers, Sparta Prague midfield duo Martin Frydek and Lukas Marecek made their debut by starting in the match against Scotland, so do Mlada Boleslav midfielder Jakub Rada, who came on as a substitute in the 87th minute.

Czech Republic: Expected Starting Line-up (4-2-3-1)

Koubek – Sivok, Kadlec, Limbersky, Kaderabek – Vacek, Frydek, Dockal, Sural, Darida – Necid.
Sweden vs Czech Republic: Head-to-Head Stats

The teams have met only twice, both in friendlies, Sweden won it 2-1 in 2005 and drawn 3-3 in 2002.
Sweden vs Czech Republic: Prediction

Sweden have the edge in this match considering this is played in front of their home crowd and haven’t lost to Czech Republic in the two occasions the teams met. Moreover, the Czech team are pretty inconsistent and the coach is keen to experiment and test as many players as possible. While the Blue and Yellow could field a familiar and settled line-up.

I predict a win for Sweden and chances to see over 2.5 goals are on the higher side.
